About Jiayan Gu

Jiayan's passion for real estate originated from managing property investments for her family for years. During her own house hunting in New Jersey, Jiayan decided to switch to a full-time real estate career as she found herself really enjoying touring properties and dealing with every step throughout the transaction. She deeply understands that buying or selling a home can be a stressful and overwhelming process. In 2022, Jiayan joined Xiaoxing Zhao's team at Compass, which had over $160M in sales in less than a decade. The team has a very strong local network and resources in regards to lenders, inspectors, attorneys, and contractors, which can help clients complete their transactions as smoothly as possible and also free from worries for the near future.

Originally from Shanghai, China, Jiayan received a Bachelor Degree in Communication from Fudan University and a Master Degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to real estate brokerage, Jiayan worked in a cancer research center and published a number of peer-reviewed articles in top journals. Currently she lives in Watchung, NJ with her husband and her toddler daughter. When she is not representing clients, she enjoys tennis, snowboarding, travel, sportsbetting (mostly NFL) and poker with her family and friends.
